This quicktime animation shows a bubble during the final stages of collapse on a metal lattice. As the final collapse takes place a vortex has formed in the bubble and is directed towards the neighboring lattice. It carries the contents of the bubble, a super dense plasma of hydrogen (and other atoms), to the lattice. When deuterons are the contents of the bubble they are "loaded" into the lattice. Before the deuterons can diffuse out of the lattice a second bubble may collapse nearby and load more deuterons near the first site. There some of the deuterons engage in lattice moderated fusions with other atoms.
