Department of Resource Processing and Recycling was established in May 2020 to respond the national development strategy of circular economy. In view of the current situation that primary resources are increasingly scarce and secondary resources are abundant but the utilization rate is low, it is jointly established by the original Department of Metallurgical Resources and the Department of Mineral Processing Engineering.It undertakes the talent training for undergraduate majors of Resource Recycling Science and Engineering and Mineral Processing Engineering. It has master's degree of Resources and Environment, Materials and Chemical Engineering, and doctoral degree of Metallurgical Resource Recycling.It is the key discipline encouraged by the state and new major constructed by Anhui Province. It is also the only interdisciplinary subject in Anhui province that relies on metallurgical colleges and focuses on the recycling of industrial solid waste resources.
At present, Department of Resource Processing and Recycling has 23 full-time teachers, all of whom have doctoral degrees. It has 5 professors, 8 associate professors, 2 doctoral supervisors, 16 master supervisors, 2 academic and technological leaders for Anhui Province. It is a young and energetic teaching team with reasonable knowledge, academic affinity and echelon structure.
Relying on the Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Emission Reduction and Anhui Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center, the Department of Resource Processing and Recycling has formed the research direction of “clean and efficient utilization of primary and secondary resources in mining and metallurgy”, “energy saving and emission reduction in metallurgical process”, “comprehensive utilization of mineral resources and Research on mineral materials” and “other industrial solid wastes”.In recent years, it has undertaken more than 70 scientific research projects, with research funds of more than 20 million yuan, published more than 50 SCI retrieval papers, authorized more than 50 national invention patents, won 1 second prize of national science and technology progress award, and 7 provincial and ministerial science and Technology Awards (2 second prizes, 5 third prizes).
We are committed to training the students with high-level applied engineering, wide technical talents knowledge, high comprehensive quality and strong adaptability. The graduates can be engaged in resource recycling planning, design, technology research and development and management in government departments, enterprises and institutions, and have the ability to solve complex engineering problems in this field. In recent years, the employment rate of undergraduates has been over 95%, and the admission rate of graduate students is close to 30%. Most graduates enter enterprises and institutions to engage in technology and management related to resources, metallurgy, materials and environmental protection, and have gradually become the backbone of the industry, and are welcomed by employers.
